Irene Martin

Applying for IT Systems Administrator · Orange County Library System

I can help OCLS manage user accounts and access, support third-party applications, find the root cause of problems, and document and train staff on changes.

As founder of eBuilt.app, I build and maintain live business applications with authentication, role-based access, database policies, DNS, cloud deployments and API integrations, and I change systems carefully: test, verify, document, and keep a rollback ready. At Prime Healthcare, a health insurance agency, I moved from sales into operations, handling account activation and deactivation, CRM permissions, workstation support and training for a team of up to 80. I work in English or Spanish, and I’m ready to grow into OCLS’s network and enterprise tools.

Enterprise ITNext to learn
My account lifecycle, permissions and change-control work maps to the concepts behind Active Directory, Group Policy and Intune. I haven’t administered those tools yet; they’re the first things I’d learn in this role.

How I troubleshoot

I treat every issue as a system problem, not a single symptom. I define who is affected, decide what matters most, check every layer, find the root cause, and resolve it so it doesn’t come back.

  1. Define the scope and users Find out who is blocked, how many people, which roles or locations, since when, and what work has stopped. One user and a whole department are different problems.
  2. Prioritize by impact Widespread or work-stopping issues come first. If people can’t work, I restore service with a safe workaround or rollback, then investigate.
  3. Check the whole system I go layer by layer: account and permissions, device, network and DNS, application, data and integrations. Compare a user who works with one who doesn’t to narrow it down.
  4. Find the root cause I reproduce it, capture the exact error, check recent changes, and test one cause at a time. A reset that clears the symptom isn’t the answer until I know why it happened.
  5. Resolve, verify, close the loop I apply the resolution within policy with a rollback ready, confirm it with the affected users, document the cause and resolution, update the guide or setting that prevents a repeat, and escalate anything beyond my access.
